We are the Grace and Peace Baptist Church of Mae Ai, Thailand, an independent Sovereign Grace Baptist Church. We are here to be a Gospel light in Thailand and to serve the Thai and Hill Tribes people. To do that we not only worship together, but also have an outreach to the villages. Our goal is to encourage and train the village pastors, to evangelize villages unreached by the Gospel, to provide Sunday School materials for children, and to help the needy. We also reach out to the local Thai community with the Gospel and have a children’s home for children in need. We love our wonderful God and are committed to showing His grace and peace to those around us.
PRAYER REQUESTS
- Please continue to pray for the upcoming Preachers’ Training and Women’s Training, which will take place from March 25-28, 2025.
- Pray also for the Bible Conference in April, for the workers and everyone who is attending.
- And for Pang Tong Eh Church’s building, which was damaged by a storm.
“Walk like a chicken,” I called out as I lead the enthusiastic group of children around the room. We strutted, pecked, and fluttered our wings before changing to, “Walk like an elephant.” It was a new game I brought back from America. I tried it out on our Saturday class of English students and it was a big hit. There was lots of laughter – and they learned the names of the animals in English with no trouble.
I was afraid that, since we had such a long stretch between classes while I was in the U.S., we would have to start all over rebuilding our class. The first week back I expected to only have our “built in” students – the kids who live with us. To my surprise we had four neighborhood kids in addition to our resident four, which made a good-sized class. Even the teen class I also have on Saturday had a visitor.
Then this week we had two extra teens, one of whom was visiting for the first time. And we had TEN kids
from our village. The three classes – teens, younger kids, and a Bible class with all together – wiped me out. I’m usually exhausted, and was especially so after all that walking like a chicken! But it is such a joy to serve the Lord by serving these kids.
Sundays are busy, but not quite so tiring with just a single Sunday School class to teach. Please pray for
our kids. Only one has a clear testimony of salvation. Several looked particularly troubled during this
week’s lesson. I feel sure the Lord is dealing with hearts. I long to see them saved and having the blessings of knowing our good God. Wichai has been preaching good, sound sermons and the kids are attentive and interested – some more than others, of course.
Sunday afternoons we have our girls’ class. Mali asked if I would teach the girls about being godly women. We are going through the women of the Bible, seeing the lessons and examples in their lives. This week we studied Deborah.
We had the second preachers’ training last week. It was another blessing, with 45 preachers attending. If
we keep growing at this rate, we may have to take out a wall in the ministry building to make more room.
I saw many new faces this time, as well as those who came so faithfully when Paul was here to teach them. Bro. Nico van Zyl and Bro. Matt Jensen from the Timothy II project came from Chiang Rai to teach our guys.
Since our classroom was in use as a spare dormitory, we had our regular after-school class at my house.
We’ve been working on past tense verbs, which is a challenge for them as Thai has no verb tenses. I have a stock of games for teaching these, though, so I think they enjoyed the lessons, especially the Bingo days.
God is good and I love serving Him here! I’m praying for strength and health to keep going until I get to
move on to my eternal home. He has been so faithful to bring us through this year of trials and heartaches. “Let such as love thy salvation say continually, ‘The Lord be magnified.’” (Ps. 40:16) I can say this from my heart!

First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to God for His countless blessings. By His grace, we were able to conduct the Preachers’ Training this month smoothly. We had a wonderful turnout, with both new and regular attendees who joined the training consistently.
In March, we will be hosting not only the Preachers’ Training but also the first-ever Women’s Training for the wives of pastors and preachers. Bro. Peter Lai will be teaching the men, while Sister Janice Lai will be teaching the women. We have been praying for the opportunity to hold a Women’s Training, and it seems that God has answered our prayers. Nevertheless, your continued prayers are always needed and greatly appreciated, especially as we prepare to welcome over 60 participants next month. While it may seem challenging from a human perspective, with God, nothing is impossible.
This past Sunday, the pastor of Pang Tong Eh Church informed us that the church building had been severely damaged by a storm. The roof collapsed, and the restrooms were also affected. The pastor has asked us to pray for the restoration of both the building and restrooms, so they can be used again as usual, as well as for the necessary funds to repair the damage. I am confident that, if it is God’s will, He will provide everything they need, lacking nothing.
