We are the Grace and Peace Baptist Church of Mae Ai, Thailand, an independent Sovereign Grace Baptist Church. We are here to be a Gospel light in Thailand and to serve the Thai and Hill Tribes people. To do that we not only worship together, but also have an outreach to the villages. Our goal is to encourage and train the village pastors, to evangelize villages unreached by the Gospel, to provide Sunday School materials for children, and to help the needy. We also reach out to the local Thai community with the Gospel and have a children’s home for children in need. We love our wonderful God and are committed to showing His grace and peace to those around us.
PRAYER REQUESTS
- Please pray for those affected by the recent earthquake. Our villages and friends are okay, but there was considerable damage and loss of life in Myanmar and in Bangkok.
- Our Bible Conference and Children’s Bible/English camp is coming up April 15 -17. Please pray that God would be present with us and would work in the hearts of many.
- Pray that the Lord would prepare us and prepare the children for the next school year. We will be welcoming several new children into our home. We need wisdom and grace from the Lord to raise them well.
- Remember to lift in prayer Pat, who is starting at the University in Chiang Mai soon and Jay, who will be finishing his senior year there. We want them to be strong in faith and well prepared for life with a good education.
The women of the Bible – what a lot we can learn from them! This week we expanded Preachers
Training to include the preachers’ wives. We had just a few, but they participated and were receptive to
teaching. We are thankful for sister Janice Lai who taught the ladies while her husband, Peter, taught the
men.
I was thankful that she was able, while talking about the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31 and the women of the Bible, to deal with many hard subjects that particularly affect the tribal women. We discussed how
to help women who are victims of domestic abuse, abortion and why it’s wrong, and many other things
that are accepted here as normal – but are not God’s plan.
The men, meanwhile, were a large group – 37, I think, from my informal head count. It’s a joy to see the
faithfulness of these men who come each month. We always have new people, too, but most are the men
Paul taught so well.
We were happy to distribute this quarter’s Sunday School material to the churches this month. Thank you to those who purchased my book, “Discovery Adventures in the Bible” from Amazon. The royalties will go to help defray some of the expenses of the materials. The lessons are from the book, translated into LaHu, so if you would like to know what the tribal kids are learning, you might want to purchase a copy.
In March we saw the school year finished. Pat, who was in our Christian school for two years, went on to
graduate from the local college with a two-year degree. He’s enrolled in a university in Chiang Mai and
will be moving there in a few weeks to complete his bachelor’s degree.
He’s staying here with us long enough to help with our next big project – the Bible Conference and the
simultaneous Bible/English Camp for the children. While the adults are in the daytime sessions, my
helpers and I will teach the kids. We are expecting several hundred in the conference. I’m not sure how
many children we will be teaching.
Please pray for us as all of us are new to the planning and the logistics of handling that many people. We
had 600+ for our building dedication a few years back, but that was a one-day celebration. And we had it
catered. This time the people will come for three days of preaching and will camp out in tents on our
property. We will also be organizing the cooking and clean up. I am a bit overwhelmed at the thought, but
we will be finding out what works and what doesn’t. Next year won’t be so intimidating. I hope!
Right after the Bible Conference, our new children will arrive. We will begin the big push to get 18
children (at last count) ready for the new school year. That means uniforms, shoes, school supplies and,
sadly, more dentist visits. The eight kids currently living with us had horrific check ups. The one with the
least cavities had six. The one with the most TWELVE. None came through unscathed. They have several
more appointments ahead of them. Ten more sets of teeth to repair coming up in a few weeks. Ouch!
Holes in teeth or not, we are thankful for the privilege of taking these new kids to raise. Please pray for us
as we work to provide a safe, loving, happy childhood for them. All have sad stories, and I’m sure almost
all have need of the Saviour. What a privilege to be the ones to care for them and to teach them of Jesus!
God has been faithful to us in the past. He’s blessing our present. We can trust Him to use us in the future. Serving Him is our privilege, and we are grateful. He is good!

Greetings to all beloved brothers and sisters in Christ,
First of all, I would like to thank God for this month, as His blessings have poured out upon us, and He has used us to be a blessing to others.
Grace and Peace Baptist Church continues to gather and worship every week, and it has been a blessing for all the children. Many of them are starting to ask more questions, which is a good sign that the Holy Spirit is working in them. Therefore, please keep them in your prayers.
As for Grace and Peace Children’s Home, we are working hard to prepare many documents as required by the government. Of course, ensuring everything is done according to the law requires many documents and numerous details, some of which we still don’t fully understand. Therefore, please pray for us, that we may have wisdom that comes from God.
By His grace and mercy, we were able to successfully hold the Preachers Training for the month of March, with nearly forty participants, as well as the first Women’s Training, which also went very well. We hope the lessons they have learned will help them continue to grow and share with others for the glory of God’s Kingdom.
Lastly, as always, we would like to thank all our supporters who have made this ministry possible. Serving God in ministry requires many components working together for smooth operation, and we are always grateful to God when we remember you.
