Sunday School Ministry

Pastors and church leaders have been concerned about teaching the Bible to their church children, but Sunday School is difficult. There is not much available in the LaHu language. Certainly, there isn’t Sunday School material for children.

That’s why we started our Sunday School project. The lessons are translated into LaHu from Susan’s book, “Discovery Adventures in the Bible.” The book, which is available on Amazon, is the product of 40 years of writing Sunday School literature for her home church, Sherwood Baptist Church in Newcastle, OK. It is a through-the-Bible curriculum complete with life applications appropriate for children as well as teens and adults. It also features review and discussion questions so that everything needed for a Sunday School class is provided with minimal prep time.

For the village churches, we also print out and laminate pictures from free online sources such as https://www.freebibleimages.org. We print out coloring pages and provide crayons for the children, too. We have the lessons translated and everyone, including the children’s home kids, helps prepare the packets for distribution at our monthly Preachers’ Training on a quarterly basis.

Purchases of the English version of “Discovery Adventures,” help defray the cost of translating and printing. Hundreds of children hear the Gospel each week and learn wonderful truths about God from His Word. This ministry is one particularly dear to our hearts.
